Involvement
2024Along with a team, devised and created an application with open data and the ArcGIS Maps SDK to visualize Vancouver's housing crisis in 3D. The application allows for the modelling of future scenarios with redevelopment caused by changes in zoning policies as well as showing urban expansion and housing census statistics over time.
Nominated and selected as one of the youngest fellows in the history of The Royal Canadian Geographical Society's College of Fellows, an esteemed honor recognizing exceptional contributions to the field of geography.
Submitted a themed photo taken during a study abroad exchange program. Selected as one of the top nine photos by a committee of judges. Won first place in the University of Waterloo Student Success Office's Photo Contest (2022) through a social media vote.
Participated in the competition representing the University of Waterloo. Collaborated with a team to develop a procedure and proposal for an optimized LRT route for the city of Guelph using municipal and regional data. Presented findings to a panel of judges consisting of geomatics professionals in the industry.
Submitted Tableau based interactive infographic to present trends in International Aviation Routes with maps and charts with the ability to filter continents, countries and individual airports.
Finished top 4 nationally in the Canadian Geographic Challenge to qualify for the International Geography Olympiad (iGeo) to represent Canada.
Competed against other top geography students from around the world in a multiday competition held in Hong Kong consisting of elements of both human and physical geography. Completed fieldwork exercise, written exam and multimedia test within a strict timeframe to win an individual silver medal, finishing 37th worldwide out of 166 participants.
Led the national team in the planning, design and presentation of a gold-medal winning poster on Canada's position in the smart city movement to geography professionals at the poster competition, winning both the overall and fan favourite portions of the competition.

2024Awarded to the top graduating student for each faculty. Graduated with the highest cumulative average in the Faculty of Environment, and 13th highest out of all graduating students.
The Academic Achievement Award honours one graduating student in each program who has achieved excellence in terms of scholarly performance while making significant accomplishments and contributions to the University and broader community.
Recognizes one student from across all faculties for exemplary performance during an international co-op term.

Received for my international co-op term in Switzerland based on a combination of academic achievement and the location and duration of the international experience.
Received as a part of the President's Scholarship of Distinction upper year program. Received on two separate occasions - once for an international co-op term in Switzerland, and again for an exchange term in Singapore.
Provided a monthly stipend of CHF 1600 through EPFL's Excellence Research Internship Program.
